Foster Hill Cemetery, Galway - 399 stones. Greens Corners Road approx. 0.3 miles north of Rt. 29 on the right (east side). The old section is on the left with rows numbered from the road to the rear, and north and south end designations on each row, and the new section on the right is numbered from the road to the rear. Foster Hill was known in 1878 as the North Galway Cemetery, located "about a quarter of a mile north of North Galway, on the east side of the road leading to the town of Providence."

Resident cooper in Greenfield he enlisted there on September 6 1862 as private Co. H 153rd Infantry for 3 years. He was mustered into service October 17 1862 with a $100 bounty paid by the town. He was discharged May 16 1864 for disability. Post-war address was North Greenfield.

Mechanic St. Community Church Cemetery, Galway - 23 stones. Located behind wagon shed of the Community Church located on Mechanic Street at the north end of Dean Lung Road. In 1878 located in "an enclosure adjoining the Christian Church about two miles east of Whitesides Corners." Note: A single stone is also found in the corner formed by the driveway and the road about 10 feet from the road, left side.

Had a farm east of Barkersville Church. With his brother David built a grist mill saw mill (1796) tannery and shoe shop by and below the remains of the old fire house in Barkersville. On April 4 1797 Samuel was elected Commissioner of Schools in Providence and was re-elected April 3 1798. In 1797 he worked on Providence roads district 11 as Path Master. In 1815 became Master of Chancery. The Samuel S. Barker House (his hotel east of the Barkersville Christian Church) became the J.C. Bogart Hotel in 1864. He originally came from Dartmouth Mass.
