“The foregoing are all of the inscriptions found in the new cemetery at Gansevoort.  
The Cemetery is located about an eighth of a mile southwest of the village of Gansevoort on the east side of the highway, near school house No. 6.  The inscriptions were copied Nov. 14, 1877, by C.E.Durkee.”  (Durkee page 440)

(The “new” Gansevoort cemetery is located on the east side of Route 50, 3/10 miles south of route 32, and  just south of Stump Street, in the Town of Northumberland.  This is a large, active, cemetery, with many additional burials since 1877.  The following list contains only the earliest inscriptions from this cemetery.)
