Granger Cemetery

Town of Saratoga

 

“The Granger Cemetery is located on a hill about one eighth of a mile north of Grangerville, on north side of highway leading from Grangerville to Saratoga Springs.  Inscriptions copied by C.E.Durkee, Sep. 3, 1877.”  Durkee’s Epitaphs, volume 4, pages 227-228.  Robins children’s epitaphs added from Grace VanDerwerker’s 1936 record of this cemetery.

 

(Granger Cemetery is situated north of route 29, west of Wall Street, aka Creamery Road, on a high bluff,  south of a large barn.)

Robins, James, son of Richard & Sarah, b. Apr. 28, 1839;  d. Mar. 8, 1841.

Robins, Mary, dau. of Richard & Sarah, b. Oct. 31, 1831;  d. Mar. 8, 1841.

     They were sweet little flowers,

     But too tender to stay,

     In this worlds chilling blast,

     They have withered away.

 

Robins, Sarah, dau. of Richard & Sarah, b. May 22, 1837;  d. Mar. 4, 1841.

     No more the pleasant child is seen,

     To please the parents eye,

     The tender plant so fresh and green,

     Is in Eternity.
