As transcribed by Cornelius Emerson Durkee and listed under Stillwater in volume 2, pages 599 – 600 of Durkee's Epitaphs of Saratoga County, New York. “The stones from which the above inscriptions were copied, stand unenclosed in an orchard about five hundred feet east of the highway on a farm known as the old Hart place, but now owned and occupied by Ingram. The inscriptions were copied Oct. 5, 1877 by C.E.Durkee.” (The John Hart Cemetery is located in the northwest corner of the Town of Stillwater, on the northeast side of Putnam road, about 3/10 miles from the intersection of Brown and Putnam roads, and about 7/10 miles from the intersection of Turner and Putnam roads. From the old homestead on Putnam road, walk back along the old dirt road, until the cemetery is found, hiding among the trees.) Hart, John, d.
