Laing Cemetery, Town of Wilton, is recorded in Volume 4, pages 573-574, of C. E. Durkee's Epitaphs of Saratoga County, N.Y. Sylvester's 1878 History of Saratoga County, page 464, locates this cemetery on the former John Laing farm, near Emerson's Corners, "on the rounded summit of the hill, in the midst of what is now a beautiful meadow." The cemetery stones were removed from the original location and can now be found within Prospect Hill Cemetery, lot 322, in the Town of Saratoga. Laing, John "In memory of Mr. John Laing, Mason, who was born in Langholm, in the County of Roxborough, in the Shire of Dumfriece in Scotland and Emigrated to Palmertown in the State of Newyork, and followed Merchandising until March 23rd 1793, and then expired in hope of a Blessed Immortality, in the 67th year of his Age."
