Prosser Cemetery

Town of Saratoga

 

As transcribed by Cornelius Emerson Durkee and listed under the Town of Saratoga in

volume 4, pages 163–164, of Durkee’s Epitaphs of Saratoga County, New York.

“These stones are in a small private enclosure on the Prosser farm, a few rods east of the

highway and about two miles southwest from Grangerville.  The inscriptions were copied

Apr. 28, 1877 by C.E.Durkee.”  This cemetery was also recorded in 1936, by Grace VanDerwerker, and called the Slocum Cemetery.  The stone for William Prosser was not located on a brief visit to this cemetery in 1998.

 

(Prosser Cemetery is on the east side of Walsh Road, one tenth mile south of Burgoyne

Road, about 100 feet from Walsh Road, hiding in the honeysuckle bushes.)

Prosser, Phebe, died Feb. 3, 1877, ae 82 yrs.

 

Prosser, William, died Jan. 31, 1865, age 72. (from 1936 list)
