The Thorn Cemetery is located on the Clute farm, in the Town of Saratoga. Go east 7/10 mile from the intersection of route 29 and Stafford's Bridge road, and there will be a large stone retaining wall on the south side of route 29. Walk south about half mile and there will be a very large maple tree to the east of the tractor path. Turn east, across the field, past the tree, across a shallow ravine and the cemetery will be found in a wooded area. The Thorn Cemetery was recorded by Cornelius Durkee in 1877 and the inscriptions can be found in Durkee's Epitaphs, volume 4, pages 137-140.
Durkee's directions: “This cemetery is on the east side of highway leading from Staffords Bridge to Grangerville, about one mile from the bridge.” The highway mentioned by Durkee no longer exists. No additional inscriptions were found in 2006. William Thorn Jr., d. June 14, 1869, a. 56y. 4m. 28d. Sarah Thorn, wife of William Jr., d. Apr. 21, 1864, a. 52y. 4m. 3d.
