These two families removed from Fairfield Co Conn to GALWAY in the 1780s. These two men also were founding members of the Second Baptist Church of Galway in 1789. I believe they also have a cousin living in Galway by the name of JOHN WARING 1756-1836. WHITESIDES, Phineas believed to have been the tenant on Farm # 5, Great Lott 16 of the Saratoga Patent at the time the Battle of Saratoga was fought. (Manuscript diaries of Hessian soldiers mention Whiteside's house.) He signed the 1778 Petition to NY Gov George Clinton. However, his name does not appear on the October 1779 Saratoga District Tax List. Does anyone know anything about this man and his family or where he moved to between April, 1778 and October, 1779?
